Group of 16 Bitter Ends Enjoyed
Shopping, Social Time, Entertaining
Reports, an Interesting Speaker and a
Delicious Lunch at the January 16th FWSA
Meeting held at the Tampa Yacht &
Country Club!
Bitter Ends Delegates are
Past Captains Pam Miller and Brenda
Bell. Pam gave the BE report by
describing the new to us Cox-Sprague
Scoring System and its advantages.
Meeting highlights included a report by
past FWSA president Del Palmer reported
on the FWSA Championship Regatta held in
the fall at Sarasota on a cold and windy
day. Dressed to the hilt in cold, wet
weather gear she gave an entertaining
report on the day.

member clubs working with a committee on
which our Pam Miller served.

The things being done to help
develop other Women's sailing clubs were
reported on by Recruitment Chair LL
Linda Schwartz.
Shopping was a highlight
with the Regifting Store to make money
for the young women's sailing award.
attended to by past BE Sue Colunio and
BE Sue Carroll. Running the Ships Store
were BE Judy Karr and BE Claire
MacFayden.
The speaker Diane Fowler gave
a very informative view of how sailing
and competition are possible for
disabled individuals. Using specially
designed equipment referred to as
Adaptive Sailing, even a quadriplegic
can be at the helm.
The centerpieces
were a collection of sailing quotes, two
per table, set with pirate rum/whisky
