Pounding surf, water-covered park roads and periods of wind-driven rain did not keep 15 or so of us Bitter Ends from Carolyn's special Shark's Tooth outing yesterday at Caspersen Park. Carolyn and her brother, Richard, claimed the large picnic pavilion near the kayak ramp and set up a fine lunch for all of us. Richard grilled hotdogs and Carolyn made two delicious salads. What a treat! We all took a written quiz testing our knowledge of sharks. Miriam took first place and Nancy Muldoon second and received prizes from Carolyn. Most of us spent some time walking the beach looking in vain for shark's teeth. The three with some success were Penny, Carol and Helen and they received prizes, too. We were all impressed with the earrings Carolyn had made from shark's teeth for prizes. Oh yes, there was a little liquor involved, in the form of prizes, too. Miriam carted off a six-pack of "Full Sail" beer and bottles of wine went to several other winners.
