November 18, 2009 - Home Interclub. A glorious day on the water for our big regatta. Many arrived by 8 AM to help Vera get down 10 boats and rig them before our guests arrived at 9 AM. We had two sailors from 4 clubs plus our own two sailors. The Dinghy Dames (Davis Island), Luffing Lassies (Sarasota), Salty Sisters (St. Pete) and Windlasses (Dunedin) journeyed to Venice. Both Beth Anderson and Sylvia Turner hosted 2 or 3 gals overnight. Terri Gwaltney and Bettine DeLea represented the Bitter Ends in PRAMS. Carol Crane and Sylvia Turner provided coffee, juice, coffecake, pumpkin bread, cookies and cut up oranges to fuel everyone up before they went on the water. Barbara Dein and Beth Anderson took around 6 spectators out on the water to view the races. Karen Williams (Race Committee Chair) reported that the Windlasses were the winning club. Individually in PRAMS, Janet Shellenberger of the Windlasses came in first, Jane McIntyre came in 2nd and our own, Bettine came in third. There were about 34 eating lunch at the Tiki Bar at the Venice Yacht Club with Beth as our sponsor. The sunfish only got in 1 race because of the lack of wind. Sara Yunker sailed with Paula Shur of the Windlasses in SUNFISH.
